These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SplitVerse mobile application and this website (together, the "Service"), operated by SplitVerse ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

3. Description of the Service

SplitVerse is an expense-tracking and splitting tool. It helps you record shared expenses, calculate balances, and keep track of who owes whom within a group. Unless explicitly stated otherwise within a specific feature, SplitVerse does not process, transmit, or hold real monetary funds on your behalf — any transfer of money between users to settle a balance happens outside the Service, through payment methods the users agree upon themselves. Balances, wallets, and pooled amounts shown in the App are record-keeping figures used to help groups track shared spending.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or related systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service (such as expense descriptions, group names, and receipt photos). By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you and the members of your groups.

6. Groups & Shared Data

When you join a group, certain information you add — such as expenses, balances, and group membership — becomes visible to other members of that group. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for confirming settlements directly with the relevant group members.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that calculations will be free from errors caused by incorrect data entry.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SplitVerse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of funds arising from disputes between users, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service poses a risk to us, other users, or third parties.

10. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or for legal or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are material, provide additional notice through the App or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law
